The HAP motto is the HAP commitment: KIDS COME FIRST!
Founded in 1974, HAP helps children by providing two sets of services: Therapeutic Foster Care Services (residential services) and Project CLASS (highly innovative and effective training services for schools).
The HAP Foster Care Services help children who are victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. HAP presently operates forty safe caring homes throughout Houston. In each HAP home, highly skilled Teaching-Parents provide the children with structure, appropriate discipline, routine, responsibility, order, cleanliness, rules, encouragement, counseling, hope and love.
Project CLASS (Children Learning Appropriate Social Skills) teaches core building block social skills to children ages 3-5 and 6-10. Music, songs and movements accelerate skill development. Project CLASS is simple, engaging, fun, highly effective, and currently benefits 27,000 Houston children.
HAP is a nationally recognized Teaching-Family Training Site dedicated to positively impacting children, families and schools.
